Stop calling yourself "hardworking" on LinkedIn.
Seriously, stop it…
And while you're at it, delete "fast learner" too.
I've read thousands of LinkedIn profiles over the years.
And if I got paid $1 for every time I saw these cringe-worthy lines,
I'd be sharing space with Elon on that Mars mission.
LinkedIn is actually a goldmine for copywriting gigs.
Where else do business owners actively seek out and hire copywriters?
(Unless you want to compete with the $5 offers on Fiverr and Upwork...)
But here's what's killing your chances…
Your bio reads like a high school resume.
"I am hardworking!"
"I am a fast learner!"
(Read that in your most desperate intern voice)
Come on…
Are these really your best selling points?
You're supposed to be a copywriter…
Someone who understands the art of persuasion.
Yet your bio is screaming "entry-level employee who doesn't know what else to write."
No business owner has ever read "hard working" in a bio and thought "THIS is the copywriter I need!"
Why?
Because everyone claims to be hardworking.
It's like saying you breathe oxygen.
And "fast learner"?
That's code for "I don't actually know what I'm doing."
Because if you can't write copy that sells yourself...
How the hell are you going to sell their products?
Think about it.
